Bilateral Myringotomy with Grommet Insertion
Ear tube insertion is a simple outpatient surgery used to treat children (or occasionally adults) who have recurring ear infections…
Occasionally in children, a foreign body will become lodged in the ear canal and cannot be safely removed in the office (typically because of anxiety on the part of the child).
In this circumstance, it can be quickly removed in the OR under a light anesthetic with less risk to the child’s ear canal and ear drum.
