Dr. Hammons was born in El Paso and grew up in Houston. He graduated from Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine.
After completing his ophthalmology residency with distinction at Duke University Medical Center, he completed a two year ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Indiana University.
Dr. Hammons has authored numerous journal articles in the ophthalmic plastic surgery literature.
